Hello! Buongiorno! Bonjour! Buenos dias!
I’m Laura Herron, an artist/designer. I love all colors and shades of blue, bleu cheese, and traveling to experience new cultures, languages, and food!
I flew from the nest to college studying architectural design at Kansas State in 2005. A 2009 jump over the pond brought me to study Renaissance ideals near Firenze/Florence in a tiny medieval town perched above the beautiful valleys of Tuscany, Italy. There, I met a dear and wise local artist named Gabriele Menci for weekly watercolor classes. Gabriele spent the afternoon teaching my classmates and I a love of painting poppies, chickens, whimsical clouds, and the wondrous cypress tree. Least to say, I caught the painting bug.
After finishing my architecture degree in 2010 back in Kansas, I started Bleu Herron Designs. Now I spend my days wading through various creative pursuits: architectural design, cooking, gardening, acrylic and watercolor painting, textiles, furniture restoration, photography, jewelry, and paper crafts -inspired and delighted by the colors, flavors, and textures of the world.
what is Bleu Herron Designs?
Its a place share my creations with the world. I make original artwork and reproductions (created, printed, and hand matted by myself) as well as other handmade paper and fiber creations.
